The greater Sacramento area has been a hub for fishermen since the mid 1800s. With the innumerable small ponds and irrigation canals, to the outlying lakes, to the American and Sacramento Rivers, to the close-from-most Pacific ocean shore, Sacramento has it all. In a radius of 200 miles you can catch a 30lb salmon, or a 30lb catfish, or a sizable bass, trout, and etc. of almost any breed.

For the hundreds of thousands of Fisherfolk in Northern California, this is your place to post your pictures, stories, fishing reports, gear reviews, and more.

West Sacramento Barge Canal

4/3/10
Joe Turner and I head out to the Barge Canal for some largemouth fishing. Using robo-worms and bullet weights. Notice this boy had a few dark spots on him... Joe thinks he was bitten or attacked by something. Its not every day that a fisherman beats a Sacramento Blue Heron or Egret to a kill!
