The greater Sacramento area has been a hub for fishermen since the mid 1800s. With the innumerable small ponds and irrigation canals, to the outlying lakes, to the American and Sacramento Rivers, to the close-from-most Pacific ocean shore, Sacramento has it all. In a radius of 200 miles you can catch a 30lb salmon, or a 30lb catfish, or a sizable bass, trout, and etc. of almost any breed.
For the hundreds of thousands of Fisherfolk in Northern California, this is your place to post your pictures, stories, fishing reports, gear reviews, and more.

Last minute cast as the tide comes in
At the last minute Joe Turner casted a spinnerbait just off some tulies in West Sac and nabbed this lil' guy. Caught a 17 1/2 in Striper at about 8 a.m. that morning too, using bloodworms.
